Weekend snapshots

The highlight of this weekend for me was when Khushbo and I spent the Friday evening eating sushi, catching up on life, talking about everything between heaven and earth. Looking back at snapshots from that day, I am so happy that I have kept a virtual journal of photos since 2010 (basically since I bought my first iPhone). I can’t wait to one day, when I’m in my 60s, look back at all these photos and talk about how young we were <3

När jag ser tillbaka på bilder från fredags är jag så glad att jag har fört bilddagbok sedan 2010 (i princip sedan jag köpte min första iPhone) och jag ser framemot att en dag, när jag är i 60-årsåldern, titta tillbaka på alla dessa bilder och prata om hur unga vi var <3

Friday wishlist

September is all about stepping into autumn and back to routines. Personally, I have kind of been longing back to spending more time at home and making more room for new routines and getting back to old ones.
This weekend, I am looking forward to starting meal-prepping again after a three-month summer break from it. Another thing than really embarks autumn for me is wardrobe reorganizing for the current season and changing out the basic items of clothing that I wear on rotation in summer to warmer ones for autumn. For example, I’ll put away all the linen garments and take out the oversized knits and sweater. I like this process because it gives me a glance over the items I haven’t been wearing for months, and probably forgotten that I owned.

September är verkligen synonymt med att hösten kickar igång och man har en inskolning tillbaka till vardagen. Personligen har jag längtat efter att spendera mer tid hemma, skapa utrymme i vardagen för nya rutiner, men också hitta tillbaka till gamla rutiner. I helgen ser jag framemot att börja meal-preppa igen efter en tremånaders sommaruppehåll. En annan sak som verkligen markerar början på hösten för mig är att garderoben omorganiseras för den nya säsongen; alla linnekläder byts ut till oversized tröjor, och yllekavajerna tas fram. Jag älskar den här processen eftersom den ger mig en överblick över alla kläder jag kanske inte har använt på flera månader och antagligen glömt bort att jag äger.

Beach days

Last weekend we spent the entire afternoon doing nothing but watching the water glitter and absorb the sound of waves hitting the shore. I found myself become so calm yet alive at the same time. It was the perfect way to recharge some batteries! Certain spots around Stockholm are truly balm to the soul during the summer – or ‘balsam för själen’ as we say in Swedish <3

Being a summer child, I have always loved my birthday. As a child, we always spent my birthday outdoors having a barbecue, picnic, or going for a field trip. When I grew up, I spent almost many of my birthdays abroad exploring new cities. So in similar nature, I spent my day this year doing things I love, ate lots of yummy food surrounded by people I love. Another post with more snapshots is on its way <3

Bucket hats

Hats are one of my favorite accessories, especially during the days between hair washing days. Since I am in a period of giving my hair more love than usual and letting it grow out, I’m washing my hair fewer times a week, avoiding heat and using less styling products. And since I am also not leaving my home as often as before due to social distancing – bucket hats have become a favorite go-to when going on a walk or grocery shopping so that I can look pulled together with minimal effort!

Shades of Nude

One thing that I am looking forward to the most with summer 2020 is wearing more light-colored clothing again. During the past years, I have fallen in love with all shades in the white/nude spectrum, especially when it comes to basics.
